An Advanced Care Directive enables you to give directions about your future health care, residential and accommodation arrangements and personal affairs. It is a way to ensure your wishes are carried out if you have a serious illness or mental incapacity, and a way to let your wishes be known to your loved ones.

Whilst we understand that thinking about serious illness or incapacity can be very difficult we can help you set out your wishes for the way you want your lifestyle and medical care to be managed by people you trust, if you become unable to make these decisions for yourself. Usually you would have an Advanced Care Directive drafted and executed at the same time you are updating or creating your Will but not necessarily.

It’s a way to set out values and wishes to guide decisions about your future healthcare and other personal matters. As well as set out what, if any, particular healthcare you refuse and in what circumstances and appoint one or more substitute decision-makers.
